Archives

Many of our archive documents have been digitized and are currently available on DVD. Our History Committee is working to find an easier means to access and view those records, and that solution might well involve another website (such as Massachusetts Historical Society) that might store those digital files and allow us to simply link to them. In the meantime, we are able to present at least a few of them. The two Annals books consolidate our Annual Report records from our founding through 1900, while the summary reports from our 2nd, 9th, 14th (the first to be held at our then-new Mechanics Hall) and 19th Exhibitions give a representative sampling of those impressive undertakings. And The Quiet Philanthropy, written by our former Executive Director Ray Purdy, gives a full overview of our history.
